Yarn Art Installation at Annex Park

Through an Open for Arts grant approved by the Burien Arts Commission, artist Christy Caravaglio, replaced the faded yarn art installation at Annex Park on the fence that borders 4th Avenue with a new and vibrant design. Her designs are inspired by traditional and contemporary quilt designs as well as an artistic sense of pattern and color.  Christy stated “I believe in art in public spaces, in art which meets people where they are in their everyday lives. Adding art to unadorned spaces we see every day and take for granted shows care and love for those places. Adding bright color and pattern here will liven the streetscape, create unexpected moments of joy, and make people smile.”
