World War I Themed Signal Box on Des Moines Memorial Drive and 8th Avenue South

This signal box features imagery honoring soldiers who served in World War I as well as commemorating those who died during the war. Des Moines Memorial Drive (DMMD) is an eight-mile stretch of road that winds through the Highline communities of Burien, SeaTac, and Des Moines. Burien contributed funds for four signal boxes as part of the World War I Living Road of Remembrance program.  These are located at the intersections of DMMD and S. 116^th Street, S. 120^th Street, Ambaum Boulevard South, and 8^th Avenue South. SeaTac and Tukwila also funded signal boxes along DMMD.
